BlenderBottle Classic V2 Shaker Bottle, 830 ml

The shaker you can hear closing.

Screw the lid down, press the flip cap until it snaps, and that click tells you it's shut before it goes in your bag. Inside, a loose stainless steel BlenderBall mixes your shake as you go, and the 830 ml cup leaves plenty of room above a normal serving.

You hear it close: a screw-on lid that BlenderBottle calls leak-proof, and a flip cap you press until it snaps.
Room to shake: the cup holds 830 ml but the scale stops at 650 ml, so a 500 ml shake has space to move.
Mixes as you shake: a loose 316 stainless steel BlenderBall wire whisk travels through the drink with every shake.
Easy to fill: a wide mouth makes adding scoops of powder simple.
Easy to keep fresh: every piece is dishwasher safe, with the cup and lid on the top rack.
BPA-free: BPA- and phthalate-free, in BlenderBottle's own words.

Shut means shut, and you can hear it

In a bag, the flip cap is the part most likely to get nudged open: one that only rests closed can be pushed open by a water bottle. On the Classic V2 you press the cap down until you hear the snap, which is BlenderBottle's own sign that it's secure. Screw the lid on firmly first, and you've checked both places a shaker usually lets go.

BlenderBottle Classic V2 830 ml about half full of shake, with plenty of room left below the lid

Room above the line

The printed scale stops at 650 ml on an 830 ml cup. That gap is the point: pour in 500 ml of liquid, add your powder, and there's still space for the ball to travel and the shake to move without pushing against the lid.

BlenderBottle Classic V2 taken apart: cup, lid and stainless steel BlenderBall

Comes apart, goes in the dishwasher

Three pieces: cup, lid and the BlenderBall. Cup and lid go on the top rack and the ball in the cutlery basket. The ball lifts straight out, so there's no fixed mixer for old protein to hide in.

Closed BlenderBottle Classic V2 lying beside a laptop in an open gym bag

Built for the bag, not just the gym

Fill it at home, snap it shut and it rides to the gym or the office with everything else. BlenderBottle's tip: liquid in first, powder second. After you've drunk it, a rinse straight away is what keeps it smelling fresh.

Cold drinks only

The seal that keeps your bag dry also keeps pressure in. BlenderBottle warns against warm or hot liquids and fizzy drinks, which can build pressure and pop the flip cap open. Point the spout away from your face when you open it, and don't put it in the microwave or the freezer.

Is the BlenderBottle Classic V2 leak-proof?
BlenderBottle describes the screw-on lid as leak-proof. It seals when the lid is screwed down firmly and the flip cap has snapped shut. A towel test at home, lying it on its side for an hour, is an easy way to check yours.
Can I put hot drinks or coffee in it?
No. BlenderBottle says it isn't for warm or hot liquids, because the seal doesn't let pressure escape and the cap can open and spray. Fizzy drinks are ruled out for the same reason.
How much will it hold?
830 ml in total, with the printed scale going up to 650 ml. A 500 ml shake leaves room for the ball and the powder to mix.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes. Every piece is, including the BlenderBall. Put the cup and lid on the top rack and the ball in the cutlery basket.
How do I stop it smelling?
Rinse it as soon as you've finished and don't leave a shake sitting in it. If a smell has already set in, BlenderBottle suggests white vinegar with baking soda.
Does the ball rattle?
Yes. The BlenderBall is loose inside the cup, which is how it mixes, so it moves when you walk. Some people don't mind it, and some find it annoying.
Does it have a separate rubber seal to clean?
BlenderBottle doesn't list a separate gasket for the Classic V2. The seal is the screw-on lid itself, so a wash of the lid and its threads is all it needs.
Is it BPA-free?
Yes. BlenderBottle says it's free from BPA and phthalates.
