Period Comfort Guide: what the research says about period pain, and a 3-cycle plan to feel better
Regular price £12.99
Common doesn't mean you have to put up with it.
Most of us were told period pain is just part of life. Grit your teeth, take something, wait for it to pass. Around seven in ten young women have it, and many miss school, work or plans because of it.
The research tells a more hopeful story. Heat, regular movement and the right pharmacy options all have trials behind them. The Period Comfort Guide brings that research into one beautifully designed book, with a plan you can start on your next period.
The method
Warm, Move, Nourish, Notice: four habits, one plan
Warm
Heat, the self-care method with the most trials behind it: why it works, how long to use it, and how to stay safe.
Move
A gentle 10 minute routine for cramp days, and the regular exercise that lowered pain in the trials.
Nourish
The foods and supplements that have been tested, how good the evidence is, and an easy way to eat on hard days.
Notice
A pain diary for three cycles, the habits that help, and clear signs for when to see a doctor.
Most chapters end with something to do now, and the plan tells you what to do before, during and after each period.

You could spend weeks reading studies, forums and conflicting advice. This guide has done that work: 32 sources, from Cochrane reviews to the latest 2025 heat trials, explained in plain language with charts and photos, and every claim numbered so you can check it.

Questions
Before you buy
What's included?
The full guide as a 79 page A4 PDF: a quick start, a safety page, 15 chapters, a 3-cycle plan, 8 printable pages and 32 numbered sources, with charts and photos throughout.
Is it based on research?
Yes. Every number comes from a numbered source, including Cochrane reviews, a 2025 review of 57 heat trials, and NHS and WHO guidance. Where the evidence is thin, the guide says so.
Is it right for me?
It's for anyone with ordinary period pain who wants to feel better, and for parents of teenagers. The safety page and chapter 13 explain when pain needs a doctor, for example if it's severe, getting worse or comes outside your period.
Does it give medicine doses?
No. Chapter 9 explains how pharmacy pain relievers work and what the research says, and tells you to follow the label or ask a pharmacist or doctor about the right medicine and dose for you.
Does it replace a doctor?
No. It helps you ease ordinary period pain at home and makes it easier to talk to a doctor, with a diary and a doctor visit sheet to take with you.
How much time does it take?
An evening to read, then a few minutes a day during your period to fill in the diary and follow the plan.
