Transparent Cat Water Fountain, 1.5 L

The cat gets running water. You get to see when it needs a clean.

If your cat ignores its bowl and goes straight for your glass, it's after moving water. This gives it a stream of its own, falling from a silver-finish spout into a wide, clear tray. The tank is see-through too, so the water level and the first sign of a film are right there in front of you. No lifting the lid to find out. Nothing hidden.

You can see when it needs a clean: clear tank, clear tray. The water level and any film show long before they turn into slime.
If your last fountain's in the cupboard: it was probably the slime you couldn't see. This one shows you the first film days before it gets grim, and comes apart by hand when it's time.
Running water, their own: a steady stream from the spout for the cat that drinks from taps, glasses and the shower. Many cats prefer moving water to a still bowl.
Apart by hand, no tools: it comes apart into six pieces: tank, tray, outlet pipe, pump, filter basket and filter pad. Rinse them, put it back together, and it's running again.
Filtered as it flows: water passes back through a filter basket and a filter pad that catch fur and bits before the pump sends it round again. Both just get a rinse, so it's one price, with no filter subscription to keep paying for.
Small enough for any corner: 16.5 × 11.5 × 12 cm and 1.5 litres. It tucks into a corner of the kitchen without taking over the floor.
Runs off USB: 2.5 W, with a 1.3 m cable. Plug it into a USB phone charger and it's going.

See the water, and you'll know when to clean it

In a fountain you can't see into, the water level is a guess and the slime is a surprise. You find it on the day you finally take it apart. Here the whole tank is on show. You can tell at a glance when it needs topping up, and the first cloudy film on the walls tells you it's time for a clean. You clean it when it needs it, and when it's clean, you can see that too.

Your glass is safe again

Cats that pester you at the tap, or dip a paw in your water, usually aren't being difficult. Plenty of them simply prefer water that moves. The spout gives your cat a stream it can lap from the top, and the wide, shallow tray lets it drink without squashing its whiskers against the sides.

Transparent cat water fountain taken apart into six pieces: tank, drinking tray, outlet pipe, pump, filter and filter pad

Six pieces, and it's apart

Lift off the drinking tray, pull out the outlet pipe, lift the pump and the filter basket out of the tank, and slip the filter pad free. That's all of it, by hand and with no tools. Each piece comes out to be rinsed on its own.

How often to clean it, and how

Every day: have a look. Top it up if the level's dropped. Every 2 to 3 days: tip out the old water and refill with fresh. Once a week, or sooner if you see a film: take it apart and wash the tank, tray and outlet pipe in warm, soapy water. Run water through the pipe to clear it. Rinse the filter basket and the filter pad under the tap. The pump sits in the water, so it gets a rinse every time too: a quick swish under the tap keeps it running smoothly. Put it back together and switch it on. With more than one cat, or in summer, clean it a little more often. The clear tank will tell you when.

If your last fountain ended up in the cupboard

Most people who give up on a fountain don't give up on the idea. They give up on the one bit they couldn't see: the tank that quietly went green, the pump nobody told them to rinse. This one hides nothing. If it needs a clean, you'll know days before it gets grim, and it comes apart by hand when it does.

Transparent cat water fountain with dimension lines, 16.5 × 11.5 × 12 cm

Compact, and quick to refill

At 16.5 cm long, 11.5 cm deep and 12 cm high (6.5 × 4.5 × 4.7 in), it takes up less floor than a shoebox and holds 1.5 litres. Refilling is simple: lift the tray, pour in fresh water, put the tray back.

Running water for them. No guesswork for you.

How often do I need to clean it?
Top it up when the level drops, change the water every 2 to 3 days, and take it apart for a proper wash about once a week. Clean it sooner if you see a film on the tank. Because it's clear, you'll see it.
Is it hard to take apart?
No. It comes apart by hand into six pieces: tank, drinking tray, outlet pipe, pump, filter basket and filter pad. No tools needed.
Can it go in the dishwasher?
Wash it by hand. Warm, soapy water for the tank, tray and outlet pipe, and a rinse under the tap for the pump, filter basket and filter pad.
Will my cat use it?
Many cats prefer moving water, especially the ones already drinking from taps or glasses, and those usually take to a fountain quickly. Some want a few days. Leave the old bowl down beside it while your cat makes up its mind.
Is it noisy?
It runs on a small 2.5 W pump, so what you'll mostly hear is running water. If it starts to hum or rattle, the level has usually dropped too low or the pump wants a rinse. Top it up and give the pump a clean.
How is it powered?
By USB, through a 1.3 m cable. There's no plug in the box, so use any USB phone charger or a USB socket.
What's in the box?
The fountain (tank and drinking tray), the pump with its USB cable, one filter basket and one filter pad.
Can I get replacement filters?
The filter itself doesn't need replacing. It's a rigid plastic basket: rinse it at each clean and drop it back in. The only soft part is the filter pad, a small sponge that catches fur, and it gets a rinse under the tap every time too. So it's one price, with no filter subscription to keep paying for. We'll add spare pads to the shop as soon as we have them in stock.
What about delivery and returns?
Delivery is free and tracked. If it isn't right, you have 30 days to send it back free, as long as it's unused and in its original packaging.
